Manufacturing consulting

Stand on the floor in the first paragraph.

Manufacturing consultants are called when output, scrap, or a late customer is already a weekly argument. The proposal should name the line or the cell, the measure you will move, and the time you will spend where the work happens.

The line, then the fee

Name the cell, the shift, and the measure. Scrap on the second press. Changeover on the packing line. A customer who has been shorted three weeks running. The plant manager should be able to walk a visitor to the place your proposal is about. If they cannot, the scope is still a slogan.

Say which shifts you will be on the floor and that the fee includes them. A manufacturing proposal written entirely from a conference room will be priced like a workshop and judged like a failed rescue.

Time on the floor

The outcome is a moved measure over a defined run, with the operators who will keep the new method. Name the method in their language: a changeover sequence, a check before the press starts, a rule for when to stop. Do not name a lean certificate.

Capital equipment, a new layout that needs builders, and quality certification are not hidden inside a process engagement. If the line needs a guard or a fixture, say the client buys it and you will specify it only if that specification is in the fee.
